When we intervene effectively on the structural drivers of HIV, we achieve other health and development impact - as STRIVE research and analysis demonstrate. So the STRIVE team were glad to collaborate with Frontline AIDS (formerly the AIDS Alliance) and STOPAIDS to produce a powerful summary of the intersections between HIV and many others of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The report – HIV Beyond Goal 3 - is now available for download.

A high-level panel launched the report in Westminster on 26 February:

The meeting was attended by several MPs including Joanna Cherry, James Duddridge and Martin Whitfield.

 Panellists responded to questions from the floor:

• What should we do differently in our collective efforts to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere?
• How is the UK government working to make the links between the SDGs and use the synergies as opportunities for its investments and leadership?
• How can we break down sectoral programming and funding silos to deliver coordinated action across sectors?

Discussion focused not only on why we need to tackle HIV in an integrated fashion across other SDGs, but also how to do this, through: 

• government policy and capacities at national and local levels
• the coordination, allocation and review of funding to enable multi-sectoral financing models
• breaking down silos in government sectors, funding streams and civil society
• joined-up services to address the needs of the whole person
