STRIVE Tackling the structural drivers of HIV

Held in Mumbai, India, the consortium’s 2013 annual meeting featured workshops and strategic planning sessions along with updates. 

As STRIVE heads into its second year of operations, the meeting demonstrated how far the consortium has already progressed as a community of practice:

• a number of cross-consortium collaborations and exchanges are underway
• partners increasingly design research across sectors and “drivers”, breaking out of silos to understand how structural factors combine and influence each other
• a deepened understanding of combination prevention is evident in intervention design
• partners are integrating new approaches such as social norms
• research uptake strategies are included as an integral element in many study and intervention designs.
