STRIVE partners receive training in Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and PhotoVoice in preparation for conducting a three-country study of alcohol availability and advertising.
Chris Grundy of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine provided GIS mapping training in Mwanza, Tanzania, 26-30 January 2015. Then, at Jesus College, Oxford, 11-14 April 2015, STRIVE researchers and KiA team members learned how to do participatory action research through photography from the organisation Photovoice. STRIVE's Working Group on Alcohol and HIV plan to put these new skills into practice in a comparative study in India, South Africa and Tanzania.
