Evaluation of the role of community mobilization in HIV responses

This report by the World Bank in partnership with the DFID and the UK Consortium is based on findings from mixed-method research on the impact of community responses to HIV in developing countries. It features individual country case-studies, including lessons learned from STRIVE member KHPT.

The evaluation finds that through the effective mobilization of limited resources, community response can be effective at:

  • increasing knowledge of HIV
  • promoting social empowerment
  • increasing access to and use of HIV services
  • decreasing HIV incidence.
