Findings show that structural and environmental factors change the way sex work is practiced. This qualitative study on the impact of an HIV prevention programme on female sex workers' lives highlighted the additional role of structural factors such as:
- Increased police intervention and curfews
- 'Hidden' practices of soliciting sex including via mobile phones in the workplace
- Clients' access to pornography through ICTs
