Research uptake resource bank

RESYST LSHTM, 2017; Visit webpage

Colleagues at RESYST, a DFID funded research consortium, have produced a pack of useful resources for developing a research uptake strategy. The resources draw on many examples from RESYST and STRIVE and include topics such as:

  • How to write a research uptake strategy
  • Writing for policy makers
  • Data visualisation
  • Social Media

The bank of resources also includes a series of handouts that provide an opportunity to put lessons into practice as well as giving further detail to complement the main resources. These include:

  • Stakeholder analysis activity
  • Using altmetrics
  • Writing key messages
  • Planning a policy brief
  • Good and bad writing
  • Sections of a policy brief
  • Twitter basics

RESYST's model of research uptake is based on the STRIVE knowledge into action (KiA) model, adapted from ODI.
